Assignments

An assignment causes variables to be defined or redefined. This section describes the following kinds of assignment: intrinsic assignment statements, defined assignment statements, pointer assignment, masked array assignment (WHERE statement), and element array assignment (FORALL statement).

The ASSIGN statement assigns a label to an integer variable. It is discussed elsewhere.
